• The Long Tail Effect!

With any large collection of information, there is a phenomenon that crops up called the 'Long-Tail effect’. In essence the Long-Tail effect is an attribute of the information age or rather 'information overload' and a large domain portfolio is no exception.

In our experience the domainer is focused on his/her top tier domains. These 'star performers' can sometimes be the faithful ones, the 'bread-winners' unfortunately; some are also seasonal or erratic in nature and performance.

And here lies the secret to increased stability in your portfolio performance. Your top tier domains are often out performed and out earned by the lower base in your portfolio pyramid but, if only you could shed some love and attention on them

'How do I do that?’ I hear you ask. The task is daunting and rarely attempted as each domain needs to be assessed on its own merits and needs to be assigned a relevant (and hopefully high paying) keyword.

In a portfolio of 100's is it possible to do this or in a portfolio of 1000's of domains?

Truly, this is one of the main reasons why KeyRPM 1.0 was developed in the first place and ultimately the main selling point if there was only one to remember.

With KeyRPM1.0 working on your domain portfolio, not only do your top domains get to experience new heights but also your bottom tier domains (which may not even HAVE keywords!) will discover ‘new growth’.

  • The days of set & forget are long gone!

Hello, my name is David Harry the Founder/CEO of Xtra Parking (KeyRPM) and I have been in this industry for over 5 years now.

I have seen many domainers come and go and also some domain parking companies in that time. I remember the days when I could register a domain and set one keyword and then walk away without a care. I knew (well I thought I knew) which keywords would work well and for which domain and category.

The keyword 'internet games' would work very well for all of my domains that were associated with online games and that was just one example in those days! I remember the month and year when Google flipped a 'switch' and all of that changed and the domain landscape has never been the same. So domainers are faced, as I was, with a simple question, "are your current keywords for your domain names the best, most relevant and high paying?"

This is a question I continue to ask of my parking providers and domain portfolio account managers.

The simple truth is, as I began to quickly realize, you just DON'T KNOW! You may think you know but in most cases its trial and error. You take a keyword and give it a few days and then try another one or you don't set a keyword at all and leave it to the account manager at the parking company to figure it out.

One of the first things I did to address this issue was hire a full-time programmer and the job description was simply this, develop a domain management platform for my ever growing domain portfolio. In the implementation process we identified a means to test keywords across multiple parking platforms.

This resulted in what we now call KeyRPM. We began to see (over a short time) some dramatic changes in RPM and our portfolio increased its return on investment (ROI). We were able to buy domains for various multiples and see a return on investment quicker than previously experienced.

We soon knew that we were onto something big. So after meeting with other investors we began the job of building this platform for the masses and in the coming days we are soon to announce the release of KeyRPM Dashboard 1.0 Beta. This has been a combined effort and has taken over a year to develop and tested across multiple domain portfolios.

The goal posts have moved during that time but we are confident in providing a keyword optimization platform built by domainers for domainers. In a time when many are experiencing lower PPC rates than ever before and an ever changing industry we more than confident in delivering a tried and tested platform.
